Santiago and I bought this rose while we were on our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast. We found this in Ravello at Museo del Corallo. For our first anniversary, Santiago had the rose made into a necklace, wrapped it up in a sweet little box, and gave it to me as a gift. Although he thinks that it actually took him a few years, and that he really gave it to me on our third anniversary. Who’s counting, right?! I remember it as a first anniversary present and it makes for a more touching story, so we’ll go with my version. I’m pretty sure that this is the store where we bought it. But I’ve already shown our memories to be faulty, so who really knows!
Next week, Sunday, February 1, a new garment by me! This time, a skirt.

Is there anything better than pairing something ultra-feminine with something bad ass? We figured that we’d take that to an extreme and pair a wedding dress with biker boots. (Yep. My wedding dress is in there. And my reception dress. And Courtney’s wedding dress too.) I really wish I had thought of this on my wedding day!! I love this look! And it would have been fitting for me since people sometimes don’t recognize me if I’m not in my biker boots. Of course, I’ve only ridden a motorcycle once and that was a good long while ago. That doesn’t stop me from wearing my biker boots non-stop and occassionally wearing a Harley Davidson tee. Once upon a time, when someone asked me if I had a Harley, I could truthfully say yes. My Harley was a scrappy chow-shepherd mix pup, but they didn’t need to know that. Since Harley died, I’ve been feeling pressure to legitimize my constant wearing of biker boots by asking our friend Marty to take me out on his bike–just around the block ONCE–very slowly! He thinks the whole idea is funny. Well, bike rider or not, I’m wearing my biker boots.
